Market Day In Vence

Hi, thanks for taking a few minutes from your busy day to stop by and rest a bit. I have been busy shopping and getting ready for Thanksgiving . I can't believe it is November already. I have not been painting as much as I would like lately but that is ok. I have learned to give myself permission to rest a bit and do other things while I refresh. I have been doing a lot of traveling and watercolor sketching on those trips. I am really enjoying it. It is amazing what you see around you when you take time to sit and look. One of these days I will have to photograph my book and show you.
In the meantime I hope you enjoy Market Day in Vence. This market was much more fun than going to my local grocery store. Till next time , Enjoy this wonderful day.

Laundry Day

Today is a crisp, clean ,bright day . The kind of day one would hang clothes out on the line and when they were brought in they smelled just wonderful. Do you remember those days? Today is like that if only I had a clothes line. I just walked home about 25 blocks and the wind pushed me all the way up 5th Avenue. I made great time. A good day indeed.
This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24
This painting reminds me of a day just like this one. I hope you enjoy it.

Very Busy

It seems we are all so busy these days. This waiter included.
My friend Nancy and I spent lots of time taking pictures of waiters while we were in Paris and you will many more or them in upcoming posts. In the midst of the hustle and bustle of the city they just have a way of standing out in their crisp black and white attire ; while their customers listen to their hearts and stop to rest a spell. I hope you enjoy this beautiful day and have a chance to stop and rest a bit during all your busyness . Thanks for spending a few minutes with me . I hope you enjoy this painting.

This watercolor is 6" x 8 " and is available for $100 plus $10 S&H

Waiter

This is one of many paintings with waiters and is a possibility for the cover of my next watercolor book Watercolors of France. These folks just pop out of the city landscape, crisp black and white and serving those who came to sit and rest a bit.
This brings to my mind, Who can I serve or encourage today ? Who can you ? I hope you have a wonderful day and that you bring joy to those around you today. Thanks for spending time with me today looking at my blog.

This watercolor is 10 1/2 " x 9 and is available for $ 150+ $10 SH

A Walk Through Tuileries

Well reality set in this morning as I was out on my morning walk here in NYC. I was walking down Park Avenue and passed a black suburban motorcade with police escort and an ambulance following behind. In the back seats were armed guards looking out the opened windows looking at those of us on the sidewalk . It was sobering. For those of you who are unaware the UN is in session this week and the city is under high alert. We surely are living in tumultuous times.
I am so grateful my faith is in the Lord God who gives me His peace and joy. I hope this painting of Tuileries gives you a sense of joy and peace of a relaxing summer day. I had fun painting it.

This watercolor is 7 1/2" x 8 1/2" It is $100 plus $10 SH

Colorful French Wheels

Hi, Welcome back to my blog. I am so glad you are here as I will be sharing the paintings I did from my recent trip to France. This one is called Colorful French Wheels and I saw them everywhere. I am drawn to color, especially color that seems to pop out in the midst of a gray landscape like Manhattan where I spend most of my time. Well Paris was no different. Paris is a beautiful city and these Vespa's were everywhere and I was immediately drawn to them.
I hope as you go about your day you will be aware of all the color God has placed around you and I hope it makes you smile as it does me.

Fly Fishing

As summer ends and school get back into session I find myself getting back into more of a routine. My bible study starts back next week and I am excited about that. I have also been working on a web site this summer. I am still trying to connect it to this blog and waiting for tech help with that but my artist friend Dreama told me to take it slow and I am heeding her advice. Slowly but surely it will all fall into place. Hopefully all the kinks will be out by sometime next week. After that I am planning on posting my watercolors from my trip to France that I took in May. That was a wonderful adventure.
The water on Bantam Lake here in Litchfield Connecticut is still overflowing it's banks from the recent hurricane but the good news is our boat is still afloat. I hope you enjoy looking at "Fly Fishing"

and that is brings you a sense of peace, quiet and balance as we all gear up for fall once again.

Concert On The Green

Hi, I am back and as I learn more technical stuff I hopefully will be posting more and more on a regular basis.
What I will miss the most about summer are the outdoor concerts on the green in Litchfield CT. It is so enjoyable to have supper on the green, watch the sun go down and listen to music and be quiet with your own thoughts as you watch those around you enjoying themselves as well.I hope you had a restful summer and those of you that are still without power due to Hurricane Irene, you are in my thoughts and prayers. I know it has been quite a few days now and that has to be so hard.
I am planning on posting my watercolors from my trip to France real soon. I'll keep you posted. Hope you enjoy Concert On The Green .

Keeping New York City Clean

Watercolor .......sold
Hi, it has been a while since I last posted. I have been busy with other projects and life in general. There are not enough hours in a day. A friend of mine had a post on her blog called The Lady At the Park on March 20. check it out at ruthiecarlsonb.blogspot.com. Well , I thought I would keep that theme going today. I found an article that quoted Dr. Martin Luther King saying , " If a man is called to be a street sweeper he should sweep streets as Michelangelo painted or Beethoven composed music or  Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep so well that others would say " Here lived a great street sweeper who did his job well. " May we each do the jobs given to us well and full of joy. These guys on the streets of  New York City do a great job .

Yes , I am grateful for patience and perseverance today. It took two hours yesterday to get the widget from Blurb on this blog so I could share my book with you guys. However  today putting the FeedBurner email  one on was so much easier after I figured out which things to click on. One also needs patience and perseverance to navigate through Times Square day or night.

Heading to Bloomies

watercolor......available
Spring is in the air today in the "Big Apple " and people are out and about.  I just returned from a wonderful art workshop in Atlanta with Leslie Saeta and Dreama Tolle Perry . I  received so much inspiration from them and am ready to put into practice all I have learned. I met many other giving artists in the class as well. It was a real special group and I feel blessed to have been part of it.
