Fly Fishing

As summer ends and school get back into session I find myself getting back into more of a routine. My bible study starts back next week and I am excited about that. I have also been working on a web site this summer. I am still trying to connect it to this blog and waiting for tech help with that but my artist friend Dreama told me to take it slow and I am heeding her advice. Slowly but surely it will all fall into place. Hopefully all the kinks will be out by sometime next week. After that I am planning on posting my watercolors from my trip to France that I took in May. That was a wonderful adventure.
The water on Bantam Lake here in Litchfield Connecticut is still overflowing it's banks from the recent hurricane but the good news is our boat is still afloat. I hope you enjoy looking at "Fly Fishing"

and that is brings you a sense of peace, quiet and balance as we all gear up for fall once again.

  1. Very lovely Diane. Your painting reminds me of the quite- Many men go fishing all of their lives without knowing that it is not fish they are after. ~Henry David Thoreau
    Peace be to you too.

  2. How true that is Karen. When we went there I just loved every minute of standing in the water as it rushed by and how peaceful and beautiful it was. It was a wonderful place to reflect while throwing the line out there and waiting. If I didn't catch anything it would have not mattered. I did however catch a beautiful trout and after taking pictures of him and I . He was placed back to go his merry way.

  3. With Feedburner - I find a big delay on a lot of the subscriptions I get. Don't fret - they eventually get there! And I would not rush on my web site... your blog is more vibrant, more 'in the moment' and available! I like what Karen said, too... :) BEautiful painting!

  4. Thanks Kelley, I have been fixing it as I write and it is coming along. I know I have to be able to do all this myself and I have to say that tech help from FASO has been fabulous. Wishing you the best with your upcoming show.

  5. I love this Diane. It reminds me of the wonderful streams and the fly fishing my husband did when we lived in the mountains of NC.

Diane, when I think of you, the first thing that comes to mind is when at the Atlanta workshop, you crept upstairs where I was trying to take a nap after being so sick, and put a coat on me to keep me warm. Your kind gesture has stuck in my mind. However, the greatest thing since then is finding out that you too are a believer!

  6. Thanks Cissy, Well they say the mind goes first, sorry to say I don't remember putting a coat on you but I do remember you being sick.
Yes, I have been a believer for 16 years now and my life has been forever changed. I am so grateful to have Jesus in my life.

  7. Diane, I was just welcomed back to your blog. I never resigned so I don't know what that's all about. Love this painting and I must share this with you. I have been invited to participate in a happening called "Cast for Recovery". This is put on by a national breast cancer group and as a fifteen year survivor, I was selected to participate. Am excited as this will be a new experience for me.
